충남 당진경찰서 송악지구대(서장 이승용)가 본격적인 농번기를 맞아 농기계 사고 예방 활동에 팔을 걷어붙였다.
송악읍 중흥리, 전대리, 부곡리, 고대리를 포함한 12개 마을을 중심으로 2025년 5월부터 6월까지 순찰차를 동원한 트랙터 에스코트와 야광 반사지 부착 등 현장 중심의 예방 활동이 이뤄지고 있다.
송악지구대는 특히 마을 회관과 경로당 등을 직접 방문해 고령 운전자들을 대상으로 안전수칙을 안내하며 사고 예방에 힘쓰고 있다.
경찰은 어르신들에게 야간 시간대 농기계 사용을 자제할 것과 함께, 부득이하게 야간 운행 시에는 반드시 반사판이나 차폭등 같은 등화장치를 장착해 시인성을 확보해야 한다고 강조했다. 특히, 도로 진입 전 좌우 시야를 충분히 확인하고, 절대 음주운전은 하지 말아야 한다는 점도 재차 당부했다.
