충남 논산시(시장 백성현)가 육군훈련소와 손잡고 장병들에게 책을 매개로 한 정서적 휴식과 자기 계발 기회를 제공하는 새로운 독서문화 프로그램을 본격 가동한다. 이는 단순한 문화 향유를 넘어, 군과 지역사회 간 문화적 교류 플랫폼을 구축하겠다는 시의 구상에서 출발했다.
시에 따르면, 이번 사업은 신병교육의 중심지인 육군훈련소에 입소한 장병들에게 양질의 독서 콘텐츠와 만날 기회를 제공함으로써, 군 복무 기간을 ‘내면의 성장을 위한 시간’으로 만들자는 취지다.
사업의 첫 번째 프로그램인 ‘작가와 함께하는 책 이야기’는 오는 11일 육군훈련소에서 열린다. 출판 및 방송 분야에서 활발히 활동 중인 작가 6명이 직접 훈련소를 찾아 강연자로 나서며, 책을 통해 삶을 되돌아보고 군 복무 중 느끼는 다양한 감정과 고민을 함께 나누는 시간이 마련될 예정이다.
