한수원은 6월 12일, 전국 수력·양수 사업소장이 참석한 가운데 ‘2025년 홍수기 대응체계 점검 회의’를 CEO 주관으로 개최했다. 회의는 경기도 남양주에 위치한 팔당수력발전소에서 열렸으며, 발전소의 대응체계 전반과 주요 설비의 상태, 비상 대응 매뉴얼 등을 집중 점검했다.
특히 이날 회의에서는 최근 빈번해진 국지성 집중호우 등 이상기후에 따른 재해 위험 증가에 주목하며, 지역사회와 주민 안전을 위한 댐 안전관리 강화 방안에 대한 논의도 이뤄졌다.
황주호 사장은 회의 직후 팔당수력발전소에서 진행 중인 종합 보수·보강 공사 현장을 직접 찾아, 수문과 제어설비 등 핵심 기반시설의 상태를 점검하고 현장 근무자들과 안전 운영 및 비상 대응체계에 대해 의견을 나눴다.
이어 13일에는 충북 괴산군의 괴산수력발전소를 방문, 우기에 취약할 수 있는 경사면과 수문 등 주요 시설물에 대한 현장 점검을 직접 실시했다.
황 사장은 “장마철 수력·양수 발전소의 안정적 운영은 국민의 생명과 재산을 보호하는 핵심 과제”라며, “이번 점검을 계기로 전 사업소가 경각심을 갖고 홍수기 대비 체계를 더욱 철저히 유지하겠다”고 강조했다.
한편, 한수원은 매년 홍수기 전 전국 수력시설을 대상으로 대응체계 점검과 보강 작업을 시행하고 있으며, 기후변화에 따른 자연재해 위험에 선제적으로 대응하기 위해 안전관리 체계를 지속적으로 고도화하고 있다.
