브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 국민의힘 새 원내대표에 'TK(대구·경북)지역 3선' 송언석 의원이 당선됐다.
국민의힘은 16일 오후 국회에서 열린 원내대표 선출 의원총회에서 송언석 의원이 60표로 과반 이상 득표함에 따라 결선 없이 바로 원내대표로 선출됐다.
이외에 수도권 3선 김성원 의원은 30표를 얻었으며 PK(부산·경남) 4선 이헌승 의원은 16표를 득표했다.
송 원내대표는 선출 직후 가진 수락연설에서 "어깨가 너무 무겁다. 제 모든걸 바쳐 열심히 하겠다"고 강조했다.
그는 "우리는 정권을 잃은 야당이고, 또 국회에서 절대 열세인 소수당"이라며 "소수당의 야당의 원내대표로서 역할과 기능이 일정 제약이 있을 수밖에 없다"고 말했다.
이어 "한계에 대해서도 누구보다 잘 안다"고 했다"며 "소수당이던 여당 시절 원내수석으로 있으면서 협상이 너무나 힘들었던 과정을 체험했다. 야당이 된 마당에 더 힘들 것"이라고 했다.
송 원내대표는 또한 "변화와 쇄신이 필요하다. 더구나 과거로 퇴행적인 그런 행위를 하는 것은 대단히 잘못된 생각"이라며 "미래만 보고 가야 하고, 국민만 보고 국가가 갈 길이 뭔지 늘 생각해야 한다고 믿는다"고 밝혔다.
