세종시가 고려대학교, 한국전자통신연구원(ETRI)과 손잡고 미래전략산업 기반 공동연구소·전문대학원 설치에 나선다.
최민호 시장과 김동원 고려대 총장, 방승찬 ETRI 원장은 이날 고려대 세종캠퍼스에서 지·학·연 협력 플랫폼 구축을 위한 업무협약을 체결하고 미래전략산업 육성에 들어갔다.
이번 협약은 미래모빌리티, 디지털헬스케어, 정보보호, 디지털콘텐츠, 방송·영상·미디어, 양자산업 등 6개 미래전략산업 분야에 대한 협력을 골자로 한다.
협약에 따라 3개 기관은 향후 지역 내 공동연구소와 전문대학원 설치를 통한 협력 플랫폼을 구축할 방침이다.
이를 통해 개방형 공공 R&D 생태계 구축 ,공동연구체계 수립 및 교육·연구 협력 ,연구시설·장비 공동 활용 ,연구인력 교류·우수인재 양성 등 미래산업 활성화를 중점 추진한다는 계획이다.
특히 공동연구소와 전문대학원은 기관별 강점을 융합한 연구·교육 플랫폼으로, 향후 지역 미래전략산업 분야 인재 양성과 연구개발의 중요거점으로 조성될 전망이다.
최 시장은 “서울 수도권에 편중된 대학과 연구기관을 중부권으로 이전하는 것을 핵심으로 하는 메가 싱크탱크가 실현되면 고급 인재들이 비수도권과 전 지역에 공급될 수 있을 것”이라며 “이런 흐름속에서 고려대와 에트리와의 협약을 대단히 의미가 깊다”고 말했다.
이어 “고려대·에트리와의 협약이 우리 세종시가 중부권 싱크탱크로서 대한민국과 전 세계의 기술을 이끌어가는 발걸음이 될 것으로 기대한다”고 덧붙였다.
