브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 이재명 대통령은 23일 11개 부처 장관 후보자를 지명하며 초대 내각 인선을 단행했다.
강훈식 대통령 비서실장은 이날 오후 2시 용산 대통령실에서 브리핑을 통해 이 같은 내용의 인선안을 발표했다.
대통령실 발표에 따르면 과학기술정보통신부(배경훈 LG AI연구원 원장), 외교부(조현 전 외교부 차관), 통일부(정동영 의원), 국방부(안규백 의원), 국가보훈부(권오을 전 의원), 환경부(김성환 의원), 고용노동부(김영훈 전 민주노총 위원장), 여성가족부(강선우 의원), 해양수산부(전재수 의원), 중소벤처기업부(한성숙 전 네이버 대표이사) 후보자 등이다.
강 비서실장은 "11명 장관 후보자는 소관 분야서 대통령 국정철학을 구현할 분들"이라며 "실용과 효능감을 강조하는 대통령 철학에 따라 성과를 만들어가는 행정부를 만들어 갈 것이며 특히 국익 외교와 한반도 긴장 완화, 군 개혁, 기후위기 준비, 북극항로 개척 등 분명한 미션을 부여 받았기에 가시적인 결과물을 낼 것으로 기대한다"고 했다.
또한 국무조정실장엔 윤창렬 전 국무총리비서실 의전비서관을 임명했다.
강 비서실장은 과기부 장관에 내정된 배경훈 후보자에 대해 "AI(인공지능) 학자이자 기업가로서 초거대 AI 상용화로 은탑 훈장을 받은 인물"이라며 "AI 3대 강국 달성을 위해 어렵게 모신 전문가로 하정우 AI미래과학수석과 함께 AI 국가 경쟁력을 높일 것으로 기대한다"고 말했다.
외교부 장관에 내정된 조현 후보자에 대해선 "외교부 1,2 차관을 역임하고 양자외교와 다자외교 모두에 경험이 풍부하다"며 "외교부 국제경제국장을 경험한 통상 문제도 밝은 분이다. 관세 협상과 중동 문제 등 당면 현안에 적극 대처할 것"이라고 했다.
통일부 장관에 내정된 정동영 후보자에 대해선 "누구보다 풍부한 경험과 한반도 평화에 대한 확고한 철학을 가진 인물"이라며 "북한과 대화 여건을 조성하고 한반도 긴장 완화에 돌파구를 마련할 적임자"라고 말했다.
국방부 장관에 내정된 안규백 후보자에 대해선 "국회 국방위원회 간사와 위원장 등 5선 의원 이력 대부분을 국회 국방위에서 활동해 군에 대한 이해도가 풍부하다"며 "64년 만의 문민 국방장관으로서 계엄에 동원된 군의 변화를 책임지고 이끌어나갈 것"이라고 했다.
권오을 국가보훈부 장관 후보자에 대해선 "경북 안동에서 3선 의원을 역임했다"며 "지역과 이념을 넘어서 특별한 희생에 특별한 보상이라는 보훈의 의미를 살리고, 국민 통합을 이끌 것으로 기대한다"고 했다.
유임된 송미령 농식품부 장관에 대해선 "기후 변화에 따른 농업의 변화와 지방 소멸 등을 연속성 있게 대응할 것으로 기대한다"며 "송 장관 유임은 보수와 진보 구분 없이 기회를 부여하고 성과와 실력으로서 판단하겠다는 것으로 이재명 정부의 국정철학인 실용주의에 기반한 인선"이라고 했다.
김성환 환경부 장관 후보자에 대해선 "국회 기후위기특별위원회에서 활동하는 등 미래 환경 문제를 지속적으로 고민해온 3선 국회의원"이라며 "기후 위기는 모두의 생존의 위기라는 대통령의 문제 의식을 잘 이해하고 그동안의 입법 경험을 바탕으로 환경 문제에 적극 대응할 것"이라고 했다.
고용노동부 장관에 지명된 김영훈 후보자에 대해선 "민주노총 위원장을 역임하며 노동 문제를 대변해온 인물"이라며 "산업재해 축소와 노란봉투법 개정, 주 4.5일제 등 일하는 사람들의 권리를 강화하는 역할을 해줄 것으로 기대한다"고 했다.
여성가족부 장관 후보자로 발탁된 강선우 의원에 대해선 "국회 보건복지위원회 간사 및 여성가족위원회 등을 거치며 사회적 약자의 권익 보장을 위해 활동해온 정책 전문가"라며 "소통과 경청을 바탕으로 우리 사회 갈등 문제를 해결해나갈 것"이라고 말했다.
전재수 해양수산부 장관 후보자에 대해선 "부산을 지역구로 둔 3선 의원이며, 이번 대선에서 북극항로개척추진위원장을 맡았다"며 "해수부 부산 이전과 북극항로 개척이란 대통령의 공약을 실천할 최적의 인사"라고 했다.
한성숙 중소벤처기업부 장관 후보자에 대해선 "라인, 네이버 웹툰 등에서 혁신을 이끌었고 '포춘인터내셔널 파워우먼 50'에 4년 연속 선정된 인물"이라며 "관련 분야에 대한 풍부한 경험과 이해도를 바탕으로 중기부 육성 전략에 새로움을 더할 것"이라고 했다.
