서산시가 첨단전략산업 거점 도약과 석유화학산업 위기 극복을 위해 미래첨단전략산업 기반 구축에 속도를 낸다. 시는 지난 23일 시청 대회의실에서 ‘서산시 미래첨단전략산업 육성을 위한 기본구상 연구’ 중간 보고회를 개최, 서산의 미래 청사진을 제시했다.
이날 보고회에는 이완섭 서산시장을 비롯한 한국자동차연구원, 한국생산기술연구원 등 유관기관 및 학계 관계자 20여 명이 참석했다. 시는 지난해 10월부터 ▲바이오 ▲차세대에너지 ▲이차전지 ▲미래 모빌리티를 4대 신산업으로 선정하고, 이를 육성하기 위한 연구용역을 진행 중이다.
4대 신산업별 핵심 목표는 명확하다. 바이오 분야는 한국생명공학연구원 분원 유치와 지속가능항공유 종합실증센터를 중심으로 전주기 바이오생태계 구축을 목표로 한다.
차세대에너지는 대산석유화학단지 부생수소를 활용한 청정 수소에너지 체계 및 수소 공급망 구축에 중점을 둔다. 이차전지 분야는 리튬 배터리 재사용·재활용 기술 실증과 전문 인력 양성을 통해 산업 전주기 기반을 마련할 계획이다. 미래 모빌리티 분야는 서산공항, 한서대학교 항공 인프라와 서산바이오웰빙연구특구를 연계, 항공 물류 산업을 선도할 차세대 모빌리티 거점 조성을 추진한다.
