충남 태안군의회가 지난 6월 10일부터 25일까지 진행된 제1차 정례회를 마무리하며 일정을 성공적으로 마쳤다.
이번 정례회는 행정사무감사와 상반기 주요사업장 현지답사, 2024회계연도 결산 및 예비비 지출 승인, 조례안 심사 등 총 20건의 안건을 처리하며 군정 전반에 대한 집중적인 점검이 이뤄졌다.
태안군의회는 회기 중 3일에 걸쳐 태안군 전역 13개 주요 사업장을 찾아 현장 실태를 면밀히 살폈다. 이 자리에서 의원들은 공정성과 효율성, 그리고 주민 불편 해소에 초점을 맞춰 다양한 문제점을 지적하고 개선을 촉구했다.
첫날에는 만대항 진입도로, 마청선 공사 현장, 대기리 불법 산림 훼손지, 삭선3리 상징조형물, 서부시장, 인평관문 조형물 등을 방문해 토지보상 지연, 디자인 미흡, 예산 대비 효과 부족 등의 문제를 짚었다. 특히 사업 지연에 따른 주민 불편과 보상 지연 문제에 대해 강한 우려를 표하며, 시급한 행정 조치를 주문했다.
2일차 점검에서는 예산 규모가 큰 만리포니아 해양레저 안전교육센터, 뭍닭섬 출렁다리, 제2농공단지 조성지 등을 방문해 설계변경 및 부실 시공 방지, 특혜 논란 차단 등 관리 강화를 강조했다.
마지막 날에는 석도 공유수면 점사용, 국립해양유물전시관 수장고 예정지, 별주부센터, 공설영묘전 등을 돌아보며 지역경제와 관광 연계 가능성을 검토하고, 실효성 있는 활용방안 마련과 주민 의견 반영의 중요성을 역설했다.
이번 정례회에서는 6월 16일부터 20일까지 진행된 행정사무감사를 통해 군민 생활과 직결된 행정 업무 전반에 대한 종합적인 점검도 이뤄졌다. 군의회는 집행부로부터 총 313건의 자료를 제출받아 분석하고, 이 중 213건에 대해 시정 및 개선을 요구했다. 실지 감사를 바탕으로 한 이번 감사는 제9대 의회 임기 중 마지막으로 실시된 것이며, 처리 결과는 9월 임시회에서 보고될 예정이다.
전재옥 의장은 폐회사를 통해 “이번 행정사무감사와 사업장 현지점검에서 지적된 사항들을 군민의 입장에서 다시 한 번 점검하고 실질적인 개선책으로 이어지도록 노력해달라”고 집행부에 당부했다.
또한 다가오는 해수욕장 개장 시기를 앞두고 “해수욕장은 지역경제에 활력을 불어넣는 핵심 자산”이라며, “군과 관계 기관은 철저한 안전관리와 응급 대응체계 점검, 쾌적한 환경 조성에 만전을 기해달라”고 강조했다. 아울러 “군민들도 태안을 다시 찾고 싶은 도시로 만드는 데 힘을 보태주시길 바란다”며 친절한 응대와 적극적인 협조를 당부했다.
