권기식 한중도시우호협회장이 26일 2026 대구세계마스터즈 육상경기대회 자문위원으로 위촉됐다.
2026 대구세계마스터즈육상경기대회'(2026 대구WMAC) 조직위원회(위원장ㆍ김정기 대구시장 권한대행 겸 행정부시장)은 이날 오전 대구시 동인청사에서 김정기 위원장과 진기훈 사무총장 등이 참석한 가운데 위촉식을 열고 권 회장에게 자문위원 위촉장을 전달했다.
김 위원장은 "2026 대구세계마스터즈 육상대회는 대구시가 국제 육상 스포츠의 중심도시로서의 위상을 국제적으로 널리 알리는 계기가 될 것"이라고 말했다.
권 회장은 "대구는 스포츠 강국인 한국에서 육상에 특화된 도시"라며 "중국에 대회를 홍보하는 등 대회 성공을 위한 지원활동에 나서겠다"고 말했다.
2026 대구세계마스터즈 육상경기대회는 내년 8월 22일 ~ 9월 3일 대구시 5개 경기장에서 개최되며, 세계 90개국 선수 및 가족 1만1천여명이 참가해 35개 종목에서 기록 경쟁을 하게 된다.
권 회장은 2014 인천장애인아시안게임 조직위원회 자문위원, 2018 평창동계올림픽 조직위원회자문위원 및 민간단체협의회장, 국기원 자문위원 등을 역임했다.
