대통령실이 26일 후임 헌법재판관 후보자 2명 및 국세청장 후보자 인선 내용과 함께 차관급 인사 사안을 전했다.
강훈식 대통령비서실장과 강유정 대변인은 이날 오후 용산 대통령실 브리핑에서 이같은 인선 내용을 전했다.
강 비서실장은 이날 헌법재판관 겸 헌법재판소장 후보자로 김상환 전 대법관을 지명됐다고 전했다. 대통령 몫 헌법재판관 두 명 중 나머지 한자리 후보자엔 오영준 서울고등법원 부장판사가 지명됐다.
강 비서실장은 김 헌재소장 후보자에 대해서 "헌법재판연구관·대법관을 역임한 법관 출신으로 헌법·법률 이론에 해박한 것으로 정평 나 있다"며 "사회에 대한 깊이 있는 이해를 바탕으로 헌법 해석 통찰력을 더해줄 적임자"라고 했다.
오 헌법재판관 후보자에 대해선 "대법원 재판 연구관 등을 역임한 판사로 법원 내에서도 손꼽히는 탁월한 법관"이라며 "헌재 판단에 깊이를 더할 것으로 기대한다"고 했다. 이들은 지난 4월 퇴임한 문형배·이미선 전 헌법재판관 후임이다.
앞서 한덕수 전 대통령 권한대행 겸 국무총리는 이들 퇴임에 앞서 이완규·함상훈 후보자를 후임으로 지명한 바 있으나 이 대통령이 새 정부 출범 이튿날인 지난 5일 두 후보자에 대한 지명을 철회한 바 있다.
또 국세청장 후보자엔 임광현 더불어민주당 의원이 발탁된 가운데 국세청장은 차관급이나 인사청문회 대상으로 최종 임명되면 현직 의원 출신 첫 국세청장 사례가 된다.
강 비서실장은 임 후보자에 대해 "서울지방국세청장·국세청 차장 등을 역임한 전문가"라며 "국회 기획재정위 활동을 통해 더 넓어진 시야를 바탕으로 공정 조세·납세자 보호에 기여할 것"이라고 평했다.
또 강 대변인에 따르면 국방차관엔 이두희 전 육군 미사일전략사령관, 복지부 제1차관 이스란 복지부 사회복지정책실장, 환경부 차관 금한승 국립환경과학원장, 고용부 차관 권창준 고용부 기획조정실장, 공정위 부위원장 경우 남동일 공정위 상임위원이 각각 임명됐다.
