브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 한국마사회 제주목장 내 한국경주마생산자협회 경매장에서 지난 24일 올해 두 번째 2세 국산마 경매가 개최됐다.
이번 경주마 경매에는 총 71두의 예비경주마가 상장됐다. 이 중 일부는 ‘브리즈업(Breeze up)’ 촬영도 마쳤다. ‘브리즈업’이란 말이 200m를 전력 질주한 주행기록과 주행모습을 확인한 후 경매에 참여하는 방식이다. 이를 통해 구매자들은 말의 혈통이나 외모뿐만 아니라 실제 주행능력을 확인한 후 구매할 수 있다는 장점이 있다.
이날 경매에서는 총 27두가 낙찰돼 낙찰률 38%를 기록했다. 총 낙찰 금액은 8억9700만원으로, 평균 낙찰가액은 마리당 3322만원을 기록했다.
이번 경매 최고 낙찰가는 77번에 상장된 수말로 7500만원을 기록했다. 김경남 생산자가 배출한 이 수말은 한국마사회 대표 씨수말인 ‘섀클포드(부마)’와 ‘모닝뮤직(모마)’의 혈통을 이어받은 자마이다.
‘섀클포드’는 미국 삼관경주 중 하나인 프리크닉스 스테이크스(G1) 우승경력을 보유한 말로, 2020년 한국마사회가 민간목장 교배지원을 위해 국내에 도입, 현재 40억원대의 몸값을 자랑하며 특급대우를 받고 있다.
한편, 지난 3월 시작된 경주마 경매는 이번이 두 번째로, 올해 연말까지 총 6회에 걸쳐 시행될 예정이다. 다음 경매는 9월 3차 경매가 예정돼 있다.
