[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시가 유니세프 아동친화도시 한국위원회로부터 도내 최초 상위단계 인증을 획득했다고 27일 밝혔다. 김해시 최초 인증은 지난 2021년 2월이다.
유니세프 아동친화도시는 유엔아동권리협약에 담긴 아동의 기본권리를 실현하고 아동이 보다 나은 삶을 살 수 있도록, 아동친화적인 환경이 갖추어진 지역사회를 의미한다.
최초 인증 이후 4년간 아동이 살기 좋은 지역사회를 만들기 위해 계획했던 다양한 사업과 정책에 대한 실적을 쌓고 유니세프가 설정한 성과지표를 높은 수준으로 달성한 도시만이 상위단계 인증을 획득할 수 있다.
인증 기간은 지난 26일부터 2029년 6월 25일까지 4년이며 향후 4년간 국내외 유니세프 아동친화도시와 협력사업을 진행하고, 유니세프의 전문적인 지원과 자문을 받을 수 있게 된다.
김해시는 아동친화도시 거버넌스 구축, 대상자별 맞춤형 아동권리교육 추진, 아동참여기구운영 활성화, 아동친화적 공간 조성, 아동친화사업 체계적 추진 등 다각도로 노력한 결과 경남 지자체 최초로 상위단계 인증 획득의 결실을 맺었다.
특히 △아동친화도시 전담부서와 전담인력의 안정적 확보 △다양한 아동친화도시 거버넌스 구축 △아동친화적인 법체계 구축 △아동친화적 공간조성사업 △저연령 아동의 참여기회 확대 분야에서 심의위원회의 높은 평가를 받아 아동의 기본권이 실현되는 도시, 아동 최상의 이익이 보장되는 아동행복도시로서의 위상을 공고히 했다.
