대전시, ‘2025 대전장애인기능경기대회’ 성료

대전시는 27일, 사흘간 열린 ‘2025 대전장애인기능경기대회’가 성황리에 마무리됐다고 밝혔다. 

이번 대회는 지난 25일부터 27일까지 한국폴리텍대학 대전캠퍼스를 중심으로 총 3개 경기장에서 펼쳐졌으며, 지역 장애인들의 기술 역량과 도전 정신을 엿볼 수 있는 뜻깊은 자리로 평가받았다.

총 23개 직종에서 진행된 이번 대회에는 216명의 선수가 참가해 각자의 숙련된 기능을 겨뤘다. 출전 종목은 가구제작, 귀금속공예, 제과·제빵 등 일상생활과 산업현장에서 활용되는 다양한 분야로 구성되어, 참가자들의 실용적 기술 습득과 전문성 향상을 뒷받침했다.

특히 이번 대회는 단순한 기능 겨루기를 넘어, 장애인의 직업 자립과 사회 통합을 위한 기술교육의 장으로서 의미를 더했다. 

현장에서는 치열한 경쟁 끝에 금상 20명, 은상 19명, 동상 15명 등 총 54명의 입상자가 선정됐다. 금상을 수상한 참가자에게는 오는 9월 강릉시에서 개최되는 ‘2025 전국장애인기능경기대회’ 출전 자격이 주어진다.

대전시는 원활한 경기 운영을 위해 60여 명의 자원봉사자를 배치해 참가자와 운영진을 지원했고, 참가자들 또한 그동안 갈고 닦은 실력을 유감없이 발휘했다. 

이장우 대전시장은 “장애인들의 뛰어난 기능과 열정을 이번 대회를 통해 다시 한번 확인할 수 있었다”며, “앞으로도 장애인의 직업적 자립과 사회 참여를 위한 정책적 지원에 적극 나서겠다”고 말했다.

Daejeon City deployed about 60 volunteers to support participants and management for smooth operation of the competition, and the participants also fully demonstrated their skills that they have been honing.

Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo said, "We were able to confirm the outstanding skills and passion of disabled people once again through this competition," and added, "We will continue to actively support policies for the professional independence and social participation of disabled people."
