행복도시내 상가공실 해결을 위한 전략회의가 30일 열렸다.
세종시와 행정중심복합도시건설청, 한국토지주택공사(LH) 등 3개 기관은 이날 시청 집현실에서 2025년 제2차 상가공실 공동대응 전략회의를 갖고 해결방안 모색에 나섰다.
이번 회의는 지난해 11월부터 행정중심복합도시건설청, 한국토지주택공사(LH) 등 3개 기관과 함께 추진한 행복도시 상가활성화 종합대책의 상반기 성과를 점검하고 향후 방향을 논의하기 위해 마련됐다.
회의에서는 ▲상가 활성화 종합대책에 따른 기관별 추진 실적 ▲중점과제 진행 상황 점검 ▲애로사항 및 개선방안 등을 중점적으로 논의했다.
또 기관별 맡은 역할과 실적을 구체적으로 점검하고 하반기 중점 추진과제의 성과 창출을 위한 협업 방안도 살폈다.
그동안 시는 상가 활성화 종합대책 추진과 함께 대규모 공실 상권별 소통 간담회 등을 통해 다양한 현장 제안 사항을 반영한 사업을 지속 발굴해 추진하고 있다.
상가 접근성 확보를 위해 보람동과 나성동에 운영 중인 방호울타리 정비 개선 시범 사업은 정비 전후 효과 검토를 통해 정비 기준과 대상 구역을 보완·확대할 계획이다.
또한 상인회 조직을 원하는 상점가를 대상으로 컨설팅 연계 등 등록 절차를 적극 지원하고 하반기에는 상가 허용용도 완화와 소규모 관광숙박시설 확충을 위해 지구단위계획 변경을 고시한다는 방침이다.
시는 앞으로도 분기별 전략회의를 정례화하고 민간 등의 현장 의견을 수렴해 실효성 있는 개선 방안을 마련할 계획이다.
이승원 경제부시장은 “지속적인 공동 대응 체계를 통해 상가 공실 문제를 체계적으로 해소해 나가고 지역상권에 활력을 불어넣는 실질적인 대책을 지속 추진해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
강주엽 행복청 차장은 “앞으로도 세종시, LH와 긴밀하게 협력해 상가 공실 문제에 대한 가시적인 성과를 도출하고 지속 가능한 지역상권을 만들어 나가겠다”고 전했다.
송종호 LH 세종특별본부장은 “이번 전략회의 시 논의된 과제들을 착실히 추진해 지역사회 상권 활성화에 도움이 될 수 있도록 공적 역할을 수행해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
