[브레이크뉴스=노지철 기자] 하동군의회가 지난 6월 30일 본회의에서 통과시킨 ‘위생업소 지원에 관한 조례 개정안’을 두고 대표발의자인 A 군의원에 대한 이해충돌 논란이 확산되고 있다.
조례 개정안은 위생장비, 용품, 홍보물 등을 지역 내 위생 모범업소와 우수업소에 지원하는 내용을 골자로 하며, 해당 조례로 예산 집행이 가능해졌다.
문제는 A 군의원의 남편과 아들이 각각 숙박업소, 목욕탕, 음식점을 운영하고 있어 조례 시행 시 가족 업체가 직접적인 수혜를 받을 수 있다는 점이다.
게다가 A 군의원 가족이 운영하는 숙박업소는 공중위생서비스 평가에서 최우수 등급을 받아 조례상 지원 대상 요건을 충족되는 것으로 알려져 논란에 불을 지폈다.
이에 앞서 일부 군의원은 상임위 통과 전 간담회에서 이러한 이해충돌을 우려해 A 군의원이 아닌 다른 의원이 대표발의를 맡는 것이 낫다는 의견을 낸 것으로 알려졌다.
그러나 A 군의원은 해당 조례가 특정인을 위한 것이 아니며, 신청을 거쳐야만 혜택을 받을 수 있어 가족이 수혜를 받을 가능성이 없다고 반박한 것으로 알려졌다.
