[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 튀르키예 초룸시를 방문 중인 김해시 대표단이 공식 일정 첫날인 지난달 30일 국제자매도시인 초룸시에서 국내 최초로 이뤄진 히타이트 특별전의 성공적인 마무리를 축하하며 양 도시 간 우정을 다졌다고 2일 밝혔다.
김해시 대표단은 홍태용 시장과 시의회 관계자 등 총 10명으로 구성돼 지난달 28일부터 오는 5일까지 일정으로 초룸시를 공식 방문 중이다.
홍 시장은 초룸 박물관을 찾아 히타이트 문명의 유산을 살펴보며 양 도시가 공유해 온 역사적 뿌리와 앞으로의 문화적 교류 방향을 모색하고, 이어 히타이트 대학교를 방문해 알리 오스만 외즈튀르크 총장을 만나 2024년 5월 인제대학교와 체결한 ‘글로벌 역량 강화를 위한 업무협약’을 실천하기 위해 대학 간 공동연구, 교수 및 학생 교류, 유학생 유치, 학술 세미나 등 실질적인 협력을 더욱 강화해 나가기로 뜻을 모았다.
특히 할릴 이브라힘 아쉬근 초룸시장과 초룸시민들의 환대를 받으며 참석한 공식 접견 자리에서 김해시 대표단은 지난달 8일 종료된 공동특별전 ‘히타이트’의 성공 개최를 기념하며 하투샤 유적지 ‘상형문자의 방’ 탁본 원본과 양 도시 공동 소장용으로 특별 제작한 탁본 기념 액자를 초룸시에 기증했다.
홍 시장은 “이 탁본은 양 도시가 함께 쌓아 온 문화적 신뢰와 우정의 상징”이라며 “앞으로도 역사와 문화를 매개로 더욱 튼튼한 협력의 다리를 함께 놓겠다”고 말했다.
이어진 알리 찰간 초룸주지사와의 면담에서는 2019년 체결한 교류이행 합의서를 바탕으로 행정, 산업, 문화예술 등 다양한 분야에서 유기적이고 지속가능한 협력을 이어가기로 합의했으며 초룸주는 향후 초룸시와의 교류에 있어서도 지원을 아끼지 않기로 약속했다.
