세종시가 학생들의 과학적 사고력과 창의성을 키우기 위한 특별 프로그램을 마련했다. 이를 위해 세종시는 오는 11일부터 16일까지 ‘2025 세종대왕 과학문화캠프’를 총 3회에 걸쳐 연다고 밝혔다.
이번 캠프는 세종시 교육발전특구사업의 일환으로 추진되며, 주제는 ‘세종대왕의 지혜로 여는 과학 상상의 문’이다. 과학문화 확산을 위한 명사 초청 강연과 실습형 체험 활동, 신기술 기반 발명교육 등 다양한 프로그램이 준비됐다.
1회차는 11일 조치원읍 행복누림터에서 열리며, 역사강사로 잘 알려진 최태성 ‘별별한국사’ 연구소장이 ‘세종대왕의 한글창제를 통해 배우는 미래 리더십과 인재 이야기’를 주제로 특별 강연을 진행한다. 이와 함께 한글 공예 활동, 유압 원리를 활용한 물리 체험 수업 등 과학문화 체험 프로그램이 병행된다.
2회차는 14일 세종시청 여민실에서 바둑계의 전설이자 인공지능(AI) 시대를 상징하는 인물인 이세돌 울산과학기술원 특임교수와 이정원 페블러스 부대표가 ‘AI와 함께 성장하는 미래’를 주제로 강연에 나선다. 클라이밍 로봇 만들기, 3D 키링 제작 등 최신기술을 활용한 체험형 발명 교육도 마련돼 있다.
3회차는 과학의 최전선이라 할 수 있는 우주와 자율주행 기술을 조명한다. 김상윤 중앙대학교 교수와 문홍규 한국천문연구원 박사가 강연자로 나서 ‘우주와 자율주행이 바꾸는 미래 사회’에 대해 강의한다. 학생들은 ‘달팽이 자율차 만들기’ 등 실습 중심의 자율주행 교육도 경험하게 된다.
세종시는 이번 과학문화캠프 이후에도 ‘동화 속 별자리 만나기’, ‘재미있는 과학 영화 해설’, ‘세종 과학 탐험대’ 등 청소년의 호기심을 자극할 다양한 연계 프로그램을 순차적으로 운영할 계획이다.
