충남 서산시가 지난 2월 인지면 풍전저수지를 낚시 금지구역으로 지정한 이후, 계도 기간이 종료됨에 따라 7월 7일부터 낚시 행위에 대한 단속을 본격적으로 시작한다고 밝혔다.

서산시는 저수지의 수려한 수변 경관을 활용해 시민 모두가 즐길 수 있는 여가 공간을 확보하고자 '풍전저수지 둘레길 조성 사업'도 추진 중이다. 이 사업은 총사업비 60억 원을 투입하여 풍전저수지 주변에 약 5.3km 규모의 둘레길과 6개소의 휴게 쉼터, 4개소의 연결목교 등 편의시설을 설치하는 대규모 프로젝트다.
지난 2022년 도비 10억 원 확보를 시작으로 지난해 6월 공사에 착공했으며, 현재 올해 8월 준공을 앞두고 있다.
