이재명 대통령이 8일 "방산 4대 강국 목표 달성을 이끌 방산 육성 컨트롤 타워 신설·방산수출진흥전략회의 정례화를 검토해 주길 바란다"고 주문했다.
이 대통령은 이날 오전 용산 대통령실에서 열린 제30회 국무회의에서 "6·25전쟁 당시 탱크 한 대도 없던 우리 대한민국이었는데 75년 만에 우리는 세계 10위 방산 대국으로 성장했다"며 이같이 말했다.
그러면서 "최근 폴란드와 9조 규모 K-2 전차 수출 계약을 체결했다"며 "방위산업은 경제 새 성장 동력이자 우리 국방력 든든한 근간인 만큼 인재 양성·연구개발 투자·해외 판로 확대 등 범부처 차원 노력을 기울여 달라"고 했다.
