【브레이크뉴스 포항】박희경 기자=선린대학교(총장 곽진환) 평생교육원이 7일 오후 4시, 믿음관 102강의실에서 ‘2025년 내일&내일(my job) 지원사업’의 일환으로 요양보호사 양성과정 개강식을 개최했다.

이번 교육과정은 고령화 사회에 발맞춰 노인성 질환 등 돌봄이 필요한 이들을 위한 전문 요양서비스 인력을 양성하기 위해 마련됐다. 전체 교육은 총 320시간 과정으로, 이론 126시간, 실기 114시간, 현장실습 80시간으로 구성되며, 과정을 모두 이수하고 국가자격시험에 합격하면 요양보호사 자격증을 취득할 수 있다.
곽진환 총장은 개강식 인사말에서 “노인 인구의 급증으로 요양보호사의 사회적 역할이 더욱 중요해지고 있다”며, “이번 과정은 수강생들이 가족과 이웃을 돌볼 수 있는 귀한 기회가 될 것이며, 대학도 자격증 취득까지 아낌없는 지원을 하겠다”고 밝혔다.
전경국 평생교육원장은 “이번 과정은 단순한 직업교육을 넘어, 누군가의 삶을 지켜주는 의미 있는 직무를 준비하는 교육”이라며 “취업에 어려움을 겪는 중장년층이나 인생 전환기를 맞은 성인들에게 새로운 도약의 기회가 될 것”이라고 전했다.
선린대학교 평생교육원은 향후에도 지역사회 수요에 부합하는 맞춤형 직업교육을 통해 실무 중심의 전문 인력 양성에 지속적으로 힘쓸 방침이다.

This training course was designed to train professional nursing service personnel for those who need care due to geriatric diseases and other conditions in line with the aging society. The entire training course is a total of 320 hours, consisting of 126 hours of theory, 114 hours of practical training, and 80 hours of field training. Upon completion of the course and passing the national qualification exam, you can obtain a nursing assistant license.
In his opening remarks, President Kwak Jin-hwan said, “The social role of caregivers is becoming more important due to the rapid increase in the elderly population,” and added, “This course will be a valuable opportunity for students to take care of their families and neighbors, and the university will provide full support until they obtain their licenses.”
Director Jeon Gyeong-guk of the Lifelong Education Center said, “This course is not just simple job training; it is training that prepares students for meaningful jobs that protect someone’s life.” He added, “It will be a new opportunity for middle-aged and older people who are having difficulty finding employment or adults who are at a turning point in their lives.”
Seonrin University’s Lifelong Education Center plans to continue to strive to foster professional human resources centered on practice through customized job training that meets the needs of the local community.
