(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천 계양소방서가 9일, 본서 후정에서 전기차 화재에 효과적으로 대응하기 위한‘전기차 화재진압장비(트레일러) 사용법 시연회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
계양소방서에 따르면, 이번 시연회는 급증하는 전기차 보급에 따라 발생 가능한 화재 위험에 선제적으로 대응하고, 현장 활동 대원의 장비 활용 능력을 강화하기 위해 마련됐다.
이날 행사에는 송태철 계양소방서장을 비롯한 각 소방서 현장대응단, 구조대, 특수대응단 등 60여 명이 참석한 가운데, 전기차 화재진압용 특수트레일러의 작동 원리, 배치 및 운영 절차에 대한 설명과 함께 실제 시연이 병행되었다.
시연에 사용된 트레일러형 화재진압장비는 고온에서 장시간 연소되는 전기차 배터리의 특성을 고려해 차량 전체를 수조에 침수시켜 화재를 완전히 진압하는 방식으로 설계됐다.
현장에서의 빠른 전개와 회수가 가능하며, 재발화 방지에도 효과적인 것으로 평가받고 있다.
특히, 이날 시연회에서는 소방청의 전기차 화재진압 장비 수요를 충족하여 국내 최초 혁신제품으로 지정된 장비를 사용하여, 참가자들의 높은 관심과 호응을 받았다.
