[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 9일 오전 11시 롯데호텔앤리조트 김해 대연회장에서 제96차 경상남도시장군수협의회 정기회의를 개최했다.
회장 도시인 진주시와 개최도시인 김해시를 비롯한 도내 16개 기초지자체 시장·군수가 한자리에 모여 지역 현안과 공동협력과제를 심도 있게 논의했다.
회의는 김해 홍보영상 시청을 시작으로 홍태용 김해시장의 환영사와 대한민국 시장·군수·구청장협의회 회의 결과 공유, 정책 건의사항 심의 의결, 시·군별 홍보 등의 순으로 진행됐다.
2020년 이후 5년 만에 회의를 개최한 김해시는 지난해 전국체전·장애인체전, 동아시아문화도시, 김해 방문의해 3대 메가이벤트를 성공적으로 개최한 도시로서 지역 간 상생과 교류의 장을 다시 한번 마련했다.
홍태용 시장은 환영사에서 “지난해 3대 메가이벤트 성공 개최는 경남도를 비롯한 시·군 모두의 협력과 응원이 있었기에 가능했다”며 “김해만이 가진 고유의 역사·문화·산업 자산을 바탕으로 세계와 경쟁하고 교류하는 진정한 글로컬 시티 김해가 되겠다”고 말했다.
한편 경남시장군수협의회는 도내 18개 시·군의 단체장으로 구성된 협의체로 분기마다 시·군을 순회하며 정기회의를 열어 지역 발전과 상호 협력을 위한 다양한 공동 대응 과제를 논의하고 있다.
