충남 금산군이 지역 내 다문화가정 자녀의 학습 기회를 확대하고 교육 불평등을 완화하기 위해 교육활동비를 지원했다고 9일 밝혔다.
이번 지원은 중위소득 100% 이하 가구 중 교육급여를 받지 않는 다문화가족 자녀 124명을 대상으로 이뤄졌다.
지원 대상은 만 7세부터 18세까지의 초·중·고등학생으로 '초등학생 47명, 중학생 39명, 고등학생 38명'이 포함됐다. 학령에 따라 차등 지급된 교육활동비는 초등학생에게 40만 원, 중학생 50만 원, 고등학생 60만 원 규모로, 농협카드 포인트 형태로 전달됐다.
이 포인트는 독서실 이용 요금, 학습 교재 구입, 각종 교육활동 및 예체능·직업훈련 실습 재료비 등에 사용할 수 있어 실질적인 교육 참여에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.
군은 앞서 1차 지원을 마무리한 데 이어, 오는 31일까지 2차 접수를 진행 중이다. 신청을 희망하는 가정은 금산군가족센터(☎ 041-750-4187)를 통해 안내받을 수 있다.
군 관계자는 “이번 사업이 다문화가정 학생들의 학습 격차를 줄이는 데 기여하길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 기초학습지도, 언어 발달 프로그램, 방문형 교육 서비스 등 맞춤형 지원을 꾸준히 확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
금산군은 다문화가족의 안정적인 지역사회 정착과 자녀의 교육권 보장을 위해 다양한 사회통합정책을 마련하고 있으며, 향후 교육·복지 연계 지원을 강화할 방침이다.
