세종시가 9일 시청 충무상황실에서 ‘2025년 통합방위협의회 2분기 정기회의’를 개최하고 지역안보태세를 점검했다.
시 통합방위협의회는 통합방위법에 따라 지역방위태세와 비상대비 태세를 점검하기 위한 민·관·군·경·소방 협의체로, 최민호 시장이 의장을 맡고 있다.
이날 정기회의에는 최민호 시장을 비롯해 김지면 32사단장, 김기영 정부청사관리본부장 등 통합방위협의회 위원 20여 명이 참석했다.
회의는 전반기 국가대비태세에 대한 보고 등을 통해 지역통합방위 역량을 높이는 데 집중했다.
특히 최근 전쟁 양상이 핵무기를 비롯한 미사일·드론 등의 무기가 위력을 더하고 있어 행정수도로서 세종시의 통합방위 역량 강화가 강조됐다.
이에 따라 핵·대량살상무기(WMD) 사후 대응체계 확립을 위해 시민과 공직자 등을 대상으로 실효성 있는 교육과 반복적 연습의 필요성 등에 대한 의견을 나눴다.
시는 기관 간 긴밀한 공조 협력체계 구축으로 각종 비상사태에 신속히 대처할 수 있는 역량을 길러나갈 방침이다.
최민호 시장은 “세종시는 행정수도로서 국가 주요 기능이 밀집된 도시인만큼 어떤 위협에도 흔들림 없는 통합방위체계 구축이 필요하다”며 “민·관·군·경·소방이 유기적으로 협력해 위기발생 시 신속 대응할 수 있도록 실전적인 통합방위태세를 유지하겠다”고 말했다.
