이는 한수원이 창업·벤처기업에 지원한 금액 중 역대 최대 규모로, 창업 초기 기업들의 성장을 위한 실질적인 지원으로 평가받고 있다.
한수원은 2019년부터 창업·벤처기업 지원사업을 추진해왔으며, 이번 지원까지 포함해 총 98개 기업에 누적 13억 6천만 원을 지원했다. 올해는 ▲원전산업 분야 ▲일반산업 및 대학 발 창업기업 분야 등으로 나눠 기업 유형에 맞는 맞춤형 지원을 강화했다.
특히 원전산업 분야의 경우, 스타트업 역량 강화를 위해 기업당 최대 5천만 원까지 지원하고, 대학기업에는 각 1천만 원씩 지원함으로써 대학 기반 혁신 창업 생태계 조성에 힘을 보탰다.
이번에 선정된 20개 기업은 서류심사와 발표평가 등 엄정한 절차를 거쳐 선발됐으며, 향후 중간 및 최종평가에서 우수한 성과를 낼 경우, IR(투자유치) 컨설팅과 포상금 등 추가 지원도 받을 수 있다.
황주호 사장은 “이번 사업이 기업들의 기술력 향상과 시장 경쟁력 확보에 실질적인 도움이 되기를 바란다”며, “한수원은 창업·벤처기업이 중소기업을 넘어 중견기업으로 성장할 수 있도록 든든한 후원자 역할을 계속해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
한수원은 앞으로도 에너지산업 전반에 걸친 창업 활성화와 기술혁신 촉진을 위해 다양한 협력사업과 지원정책을 확대해나갈 방침이다.
