올들어 처음으로 전북에서 일본 뇌염 매개모기인 '작은빨간집모기'가 발견돼 건강관리에 각별한 주의가 요망된다.
전북자치도 보건환경연구원은 일본뇌염 주의보 및 경보 발령을 위한 필수 기초자료로 활용하기 위해 4월부터 매주 2차례 걸쳐 정기적으로 채집과 분석을 실시하고 있는 가운데 지난 8일 완주군 상관면의 한 축사 주변에서 채집된 모기에서 일본뇌염을 옮기는 '작은빨간집모기'를 확인했다고 10일 밝혔다.
올해는 전남과 제주에서 가장 먼저 작은빨간집모기가 확인돼 3월 27일 일본뇌염 주의보가 발령된 바 있다.
'작은빨간집모기'는 논이나 축사ㆍ집 주변의 고인 웅덩이 등에 서식하는 암갈색의 소형 모기로 주로 야간에 흡혈 활동을 한다.
