[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 천혜의 자연을 간직한 통영시 사량도 대항 해수욕장이 11일 개장식을 갖고 본격적인 여름 관광 시즌의 시작을 알렸다.
이날 개장식은 사량도 주민과 유관기간 단체 등 약 100여 명이 참석한 가운데 참석자를 대상으로 노르딕 워킹 강습 후 해변을 걸으며 자연 속 건강한 체험을 함께 나누는 시간을 가졌다.
올해 여름도 해수욕장을 찾는 피서객들이 안전사고없이 해수욕을 즐길 수 있도록 기원을 드렸다.
특히, 올해는 사이트 42개소 규모를 갖춘 야영장도 함께 문을 열어 11월 7일까지 한시적으로 운영될 예정이다.
임형수 사량면장은 “우리 사량도 대항 해수욕장은 자연 그대로의 섬 풍경과 여유로운 분위기를 동시에 느낄 수 있는 특별한 공간으로 많은 방문객들이 안전하고 편안한 여름을 보내시길 바란다”고 전했다.
한편, 사량도 대항 해수욕장은 8월 24일까지 운영될 예정이며, 대형 해수욕장과 달리 복잡하지 않고 조용한 휴식 공간으로 가족 단위 여행객과 자연 속 힐링을 원하는 이들에게 최적의 여름 피서지이다.
또한 지리산 옥녀봉, 해안둘레길 등이 있어 해수욕뿐만 아니라 산책 코스도 함께 즐길 수 있다.
