【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구학생문화센터(관장 권원희)는 15일 ‘제1회 청소년국악관현악단 국악창작곡 공모전’ 시상식을 개최하고, 국악관현악곡 부문과 협주곡 부문 우수작을 각각 선정·시상했다고 밝혔다.
이번 공모전은 청소년이 직접 연주할 수 있는 창작 국악곡을 발굴해 국악교육 현장에 실질적인 도움을 주고자 마련된 것으로, ▲국악관현악곡 부문과 ▲국악관현악 협주곡 부문으로 나뉘어 진행됐다.
우수작품상은 양승환 작곡가의 국악관현악곡 ‘풍류유희(風流遊戲)’와 임교민 작곡가의 해금협주곡 ‘지천명(知天命)’이 차지했다. 두 수상자에게는 대구광역시교육감상과 함께 상금 300만 원이 수여됐다.
양승환 작곡가는 “흥과 한의 요소를 담아 청소년이 자유롭게 연주하며 국악의 즐거움을 체험할 수 있도록 곡을 구성했다”고 밝혔고, 임교민 작곡가는 “지영희류 해금산조의 멋을 살려 학생들이 쉽게 접근할 수 있는 협주곡으로 만들었다”며 소감을 전했다.
수상작들은 오는 11월 18일 열리는 ‘제16회 대구학생국악단 정기연주회’ 무대에서 초연될 예정이며, 향후 대구시교육청 관내 국악관현악단 운영학교에 교육 자료로 배포돼 국악 수업에 활용된다.
권원희 관장은 “청소년이 직접 연주할 수 있는 창작 국악곡이 많아지는 것이 국악의 저변 확대를 위한 중요한 시작”이라며 “앞으로도 국악 창작과 교육 현장을 잇는 가교 역할을 이어가겠다”고 말했다.

The Outstanding Works Award went to composer Yang Seung-hwan’s traditional Korean music orchestral music piece ‘Pungryu Yuhui (風流遊戲)’ and composer Lim Kyo-min’s haegeum concerto ‘Jicheonmyeong (知天命)’. The two winners were awarded the Daegu Metropolitan City Superintendent of Education Award and a cash prize of 3 million won.
Composer Yang Seung-hwan said, “I composed the piece so that young people can freely play it and experience the joy of traditional Korean music, including elements of excitement and sorrow,” and composer Lim Kyo-min said, “I made it into a concerto that students can easily approach, taking advantage of the charm of Ji Yeong-hui-style Haegeum Sanjo.”
The winning pieces will be premiered on stage at the ‘16th Daegu Student Traditional Korean Music Orchestra Regular Concert’ to be held on November 18, and will be distributed as educational materials to schools operating traditional Korean music orchestras under the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education and used in traditional Korean music classes.
Director Kwon Won-hee said, “Increasing the number of creative traditional Korean music pieces that young people can play themselves is an important start to expanding the base of traditional Korean music,” and added, “We will continue to serve as a bridge between traditional Korean music creation and education.”
