세종특별자치시교육청(교육감 최교진)은 16일, 초등교사의 놀이 수업 전문성 강화를 목적으로 마련한 ‘초등 저학년·고학년 놀이교육 실천 연수’를 성황리에 마무리했다고 밝혔다.
이번 연수는 놀이의 교육적 가치를 재조명하고, 발달 수준에 맞는 놀이를 교육과정과 유기적으로 접목하는 방법을 모색하는 데 중점을 두었다. 특히 학년군별로 프로그램을 이원화하여, 참가 교사들이 자신의 학년에 맞는 강좌를 선택할 수 있도록 설계한 점이 눈에 띄었다.
저학년반 강의는 ‘초등홍선생’ 조홍준 교사가 맡았다. 그는 “놀이 속에서 아이들은 스스로 배우고 주도적으로 움직이며 성장한다”고 강조하며, 실질적인 수업 사례를 중심으로 놀이의 교육적 본질을 짚어냈다.
