한국조폐공사(사장 성창훈)가 7월 한여름의 무더위에도 불구하고, 지역사회 취약계층을 위한 사회공헌 활동에 적극 나서며 공공기관의 사회적 책임을 실천하고 있다.
조폐공사는 지난 15일, 충남대학교 ESG센터가 주관하는 ‘F5(새로고침)’ 주거환경 개선 프로젝트 발대식에 참여해, 도배와 장판 시공에 사용될 기부금을 후원했다. 이 사업은 대전·세종·충남권 지자체의 추천을 받은 취약계층 가구를 대상으로 주거환경을 정비하는 프로그램으로, 지역 거점대학을 중심으로 공공기관과 민간 기업이 협력해 추진하는 것이 특징이다.
조폐공사는 이번 기부를 계기로 해당 사업이 해마다 안정적으로 운영될 수 있도록 장기적인 관심과 참여를 약속했다.
이어 16일에는 대전광역시자원봉사센터와 손잡고 실질적인 나눔 활동도 전개했다. 조폐공사 임직원 약 20명은 자원봉사 플랫폼을 통해 직접 과일청과 전통 간식인 오란다를 만들어 대전 동구 지역 내 취약계층 어르신들에게 전달했다. 이들은 각자 작성한 응원 카드를 함께 동봉하며 정서적 위로도 함께 전했다.
이번 활동에 참여한 한 직원은 “무더운 여름이지만, 이런 소소한 정을 나눌 수 있어 보람 있었다”며 “어르신들께 조금이나마 힘이 되었으면 한다”고 소감을 전했다.
조폐공사는 하반기에도 충남대학교와 연계한 ‘랜덤버스’ 봉사활동, 지역 대학축제와 연계한 나눔 프로젝트, 전통시장 대상 소간판 지원 사업 등 지역사회 수요에 기반한 사회공헌 프로그램을 지속적으로 추진할 계획이다.
