(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 남동구가 21일, 만수천이 소하천으로 지정돼 복원사업에 속도를 내게 됐다고 밝혔다.
남동구는에 따르면, 지난 16일 자로 만수천을 소하천으로 지정 고시했으며 이어 같은 날 소하천 복원사업의 기준이 될 ‘만수천 소하천정비종합계획’을 수립·고시했다.
소하천으로 지정된 구간은 남동구 만수동 909번지에서 수산동 2-32번지로 이어지는 하천으로, 과거 복개된 이후 하천 기능이 상실돼 재해 예방 및 도심 속 친수공간 확보 측면에서 복원이 시급한 지역이다.
이번 고시는 도심 속 복개 하천인 만수천의 재해 예방 및 도심 속 친수공간 확보를 위한 ‘만수천 소하천 복원사업’ 추진의 본격적인 행정 기반을 마련한 것으로 평가된다.
남동구는 ‘만수천 소하천 복원사업’의 행정안전부 중앙투자심사를 진행 중이며, 10월 초 심사 결과가 발표될 예정이다.
향후 실시설계 및 사업비 확보 등을 속도감 있게 추진해 도심 속 자연형 하천의 복원이라는 지역 숙원사업을 차질없이 이행해나간다는 계획이다.
박종효 남동구청장은 “이번 만수천의 소하천 지정과 정비종합계획 수립 고시는 만수천 소하천 복원사업을 본격화하는 결정적인 전환점”이라며 “급격한 기후변화로 인한 집중호우로 인한 재해에 대비하고, 자연형 하천 복원을 통한 도심의 생태·환경 기능 회복 및 주민들에게 쾌적한 친수공간을 제공할 수 있을 것”이고 말했다.

또한, 남동구가 21일, 폭염으로 인한 작업 현장의 온열질환 예방을 위해 근로자를 위한 서한문을 발송했다고 밝혔다.
남동구에 따르면, 구는 이상고온이 과거보다 급격히 증가해 근로자의 안전이 중요한 시기라는 판단으로, 이번 서한문을 발송했다.
남동구는 지난 8일 폭염경보가 발효됨에 따라 ‘폭염 재난안전대책본부’를 가동하고, 각종 취약 지역과 현장에 대한 선제적 대응에 나섰다.
특히, 폭염 속 근로자 보호를 위한 특별 대책의 일환으로 구청장 명의의 서한문을 관내 기업체 및 건설 현장, 근로자 고용업체 등에 발송 조치를 완료했다.
