브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 이재명 대통령은 22일 "국민들이 죽어가는 그 엄혹한 수해 현장에서 음주가무를 즐기거나 대책 없이 행동하는 정신 나간 공직자들에 대해서는 아주 엄히 단속하길 바란다"고 지시했다.
이재명 대통령은 이날 오전 용산 대통령실에서 제32회 국무회의에서 "공직사회는 신상필벌이 참으로 중요하다는 점을 다시 한 번 강조한다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
이 대통령은 다만 "이번 재난 과정에서 열심히 근무하는 공무원들도 참 많이 보인다"며 "우수 사례, 모범 사례들을 최대한 발굴해 타의 모범이 될 수 있게 조치해달라"고도 당부했다.
앞서 백경현 구리시장은 지난 20일 집중호우로 인명피해가 속출한 상황 속에서 강원도 홍천군의 한 식당에서 열린 야유회에 참석해 마이크를 잡고 노래를 부르는 영상이 보도돼 논란이 인 바 있다.
이 대통령은 또한 "다행히 비는 그쳤지만 (경남 산청) 현장에서 본 국민들의 안타까운 상황이 지금도 눈 앞을 떠나지 않는다"며 "국정을 책임지는 대통령으로서 국민 한 분 한 분이 겪는 그런 고통에 대해 좀 더 예민해지도록 노력하겠다"고 말했다.
이 대통령은 이어 "이번 폭우를 보면서 기존 방식과 시설, 장비, 대응책만으로는 한계가 있다는 생각이 들었다"면서 김민석 국무총리에게 "이게 모든 부처에 관계된 것이어서 종합적인 대책을 강구해달라"고 주문했다.
아울러 "자주 말씀드리는데 우리 사회는 죽음이 너무 많다"며 "특히 최근 산업재해 사망은 돈을 벌기 위해 비용을 아끼다가 생명을 경시해 생기는 경우가 상당히 많다. 산업재해 사망 현장을 조속한 시간 내에 방문해서 현황과 대응책을 강구해보겠다"고 했다.
