브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 국내 상장사의 86%는 대표이사가 이사회 의장을 겸직하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 사외이사를 이사회 의장으로 선임한 상장사는 4.2%에 불과했다.
23일 CEO스코어에 따르면 지난 6월 말 기준 국내 유가증권 및 코스닥 상장사 2531곳을 대상으로 조사한 결과, 대표이사가 이사회 의장을 겸직하고 있는 상장사는 총 2176곳으로 전체의 86.0%에 달했다. 여기에 총수일가가 이사회 의장을 맡고 있는 업체도 169곳(6.7%)이나 됐다.
사외이사를 이사회 의장으로 선임한 상장사는 107곳(4.2%)에 그쳤다.
대표이사의 이사회 의장 겸임 비중은 자산 규모에 따라 차이가 컸다. 자산 2조원 이상 상장사의 경우 대표가 이사회 의장을 겸직하고 있는 곳은 53.4%(109곳)인 반면, 자산 5000억원 미만은 90.8%(1766곳)나 됐다.
10대 그룹의 경우, 사외이사를 이사회 의장으로 선임한 상장계열사가 가장 많은 곳은 SK그룹이었다. SK그룹은 20개 상장 계열사 중 15곳(75.0%)에서 이사회 의장을 사외이사로 선임했다.
