최민호 세종시장이 이달 24일부터 내달 1일까지 7박 9일간 일정으로 독일과 크로아티아를 공식 방문한다. 최 시장은 이 기간 행정수도 세종의 국제적 위상 강화에 나선다.
출국에 앞서 최 시장은 23일 오후 시청 1층 로비에서 출입 기자들과 차담회를 갖고 이 같은 일정을 공개했다.
최 시장은 이번 국외 출장을 통해 2027 충청권 하계세계대학경기대회 대회기를 인수하고 독일·크로아티아 주요 도시와 스마트시티 협력 등을 중점적으로 논의할 것으로 알려졌다.
최 시장은 국제관계대사 등 9명으로 구성된 방문단과 함께 독일 슈투트가르트·뒤스부르크, 크로아티아 스플리트·두브로브니크 등 2개국 4개 도시를 순차적으로 방문한다.
먼저 25일에는 독일 슈투트가르트시청을 방문해 프랑크 노퍼 시장을 만나 우호협력의향(LOI)을 체결하고 모빌리티·스마트시티 분야 등 도시 간 협력 방안을 논의한다.
또 고려대 세종캠퍼스와 독일 미래 모빌리티 혁신캠퍼스(ICM)가 이에 하루 앞선 24일에 모빌리티 분야 업무협약(MOU)을 체결하는 데 따라 공동 연구와 인적 교류 등 대학 간 협력 등을 지원하는 방향도 공유할 에정이다.
미래 모빌리티 혁신캠퍼스(ICM)는 슈투트가르트대학교(USTUTT)와 칼스루에공과대학교(KIT)가 자율주행·디지털 모빌리티 시스템 등 관련 기술 개발과 연구를 위해 공동 설립한 협력 플랫폼이다.
오는 26일에는 2025 라인-루르 하계세계대학경기대회가 열리는 독일 뒤스부르크시를 방문해 세종시에서 열리는 예정 종목인 유도경기장을 시찰하고 국제대학스포츠연맹(FISU) 관계자 등과 면담을 갖는다.
이 자리에는 충청권 4개 시도지사와 2027 하계세계대학경기대회 충청조직위원회가 참석해 대회 운영 사례를 듣고 2027 대회 준비를 위한 협력 사항을 폭넓게 논의할 계획이다.
이어 재독 한글학교 교장협의회 회원들과 간담회를 갖고 한글·한국어 교육 협력방안 공유, ‘2025 한글 국제 프레 비엔날레’ 행사 등을 홍보할 예정이다.
27일에는 2025 라인-루르 하계세계대학경기대회 폐회식에 참석해 대국제대학스포츠연맹(FISU) 대회기를 인수한다.
