충남 당진시(시장 오성환)가 최근 중부지역에 쏟아진 집중호우로 대규모 피해를 입은 가운데, 정부의 특별재난지역 1차 선포 대상에서 제외되자 신속한 피해 조사와 자료 확보를 통해 추가 지정에 총력을 기울이고 있다.
앞서 정부는 지난 22일 경기도 가평, 충남 서산·예산, 전남 담양, 경남 산청·합천 등 6개 시군을 특별재난지역으로 우선 지정했다. 이는 대규모 인명 피해나 산림·하천 붕괴 등 긴급성이 높은 일부 지역을 중심으로 예외조항에 따라 대통령 직권으로 선포한 것이다.
