새 디자인은 일반용, 재사용, 공공용 3종으로, 복잡한 문구를 없애고 배출 금지 품목과 시간 정보를 그림 문자(픽토그램)로 쉽게 알 수 있게 했다. 북구 캐릭터 ‘부키’를 전면에 넣어 주민 친화적 이미지를 강조했다.

특히 손잡이가 있는 재사용 봉투는 장바구니로 쓰다가 종량제 봉투로 재활용할 수 있다. 이번 개선은 주민 의견을 수렴해 진행했으며, 기존 봉투 재고 소진 후 순차적으로 교체된다. 기존 봉투는 계속 사용 가능하다.

배광식 북구청장은 “이번 변화가 올바른 쓰레기 배출과 불법 투기 감소에 도움이 될 것”이라며 “앞으로도 깨끗한 생활 환경 조성을 위해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
