인천시에 따르면, 시는 지난 4월부터 미국의 상호관세 부과 예고에 따라 인천테크노파크, 인천상공회의소 등 유관기관이 공동 참여하는 ‘미국 통상정책 비상대응 TF’를 구성하여 글로벌 통상환경 변화에 대한 모니터링을 강화하고 수출기업의 애로사항을 상시 접수하며 지역 경제·산업계와 지속적으로 소통해 왔다.
또한 5월과 6월에는 시중은행과 협업하여 인천형 특별 경영안정자금 3,100억 원을 지역 중소기업들의 자금난 해소를 위해 적극 지원했다.
특히, 지난 7월 14일부터 1,500억 원의 긴급 경영안정자금을 마련해 미국 관세 여파로 일시적 자금 유동성 확보 등의 어려움을 겪는 대미 수출기업과 관련 협력기업에 대한 지원을 본격화하고 있다.

아울러 인천시는 해외시장 개척과 수출 다변화를 위한 지원도 적극 확대한다.
8월 중에는 프랑스, 호주 등 10개국 구매자(buyer)를 인천으로 초청해 지역기업 100개 사와 수출상담회를 개최할 예정이며, 이번 관세 협상 타결로 피해가 우려되는 뷰티·식품 산업 분야 기업들을 대상으로 베트남, 인도 등에서의 수출상담회 및 해외 전시회 참여도 적극 지원할 방침이다
또한 관세로 인해 수출위험도가 높아진 기업들이 안전하게 수출할 수 있도록 수출신용보증과 수출보험 등 관련 금융 지원도 확대 검토 중이다.
