(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 남동구가 4일, 지난 6~7월 사이 20개 모든 동에서 마을 민주주의와 주민자치의 꽃인 주민총회를 성공적으로 마무리했다고 밝혔다.
남동구에 따르면, 주민총회는 지역주민 누구나 참여해 우리 동네에 필요한 사업과 개선 방향을 함께 논의하고 결정하는 공론의 장이다.
올해 주민총회는 주민자치회 자치사업 현황과 성과 공유, 발굴된 마을 의제 선정을 위한 투표와 결과 발표, 내년도 자치계획 발표 등으로 구성·진행됐다.
각 동 주민자치회 자율적으로 진행된 이번 주민총회는 주민자치센터 프로그램 동아리 발표회, 마을 축제 등을 연계 추진해 주민의 참여와 관심도를 높였다.
특히, 지역 학교와의 협력으로 총회를 학교에서 진행하거나 학생들이 행사 진행에 직접 참여해 주민자치에 대한 이해를 높이는 기회를 가지는 등 주민자치 활동이 더욱 다양한 마을공동체로 확대된 점이 주목할 만한 성과로 평가된다.
동별 주민총회에 상정된 마을 의제는 총 80건, 5억 3천만 원의 예산 규모로, 실현 가능성 검토를 거쳐 예산 확보에 따라 2026년 사업으로 추진될 예정이다.
