풍물굿놀이연구소가 통일과 화합을 주제로 한 특별 공연 '심향(心香)'을 개최한다고 밝혔다.
오는 8월 17일 오후 6시부터 8시까지 경기도 파주시 운정행복센터 대극장에서 열리는 이번 공연은 전통문화예술과 한반도 고유의 굿이 협업하여 한민족의 '하나의 산·하나의 강·하나의 마음'을 풍물굿으로 승화시킨 토속문화예술 놀이마당이다.

'심향'은 2015년 첫 공연 '그리고 굿'을 시작으로 2017년 '길위에서', 2019년 '신명여인'에 이어 코로나19로 중단됐다가 5년 만에 선보이는 네 번째 '굿and GOOD' 시리즈 작품이다.
특히 이번 공연에서는 그동안 구술로만 전승되어 왔던 파주굿(산거리)을 전문가의 도움을 받아 복원해 무대에 올린다는 점이 주목된다.
공연에는 국내 캘리그래피 1호 이상현 작가를 비롯해 ▲지용훈 대한불교 법성종 경기도북부 총괄 ▲이웅열 향토문화재 제4호 안성 경·서·남도 잡가 이수자 ▲연홍관 서울무형유산 제44호 삼현육각 이수자 등 국내 토착문화예술계 대가들이 참여한다.
김영수 풍물굿놀이연구소장은 "올해 공연은 우리 고유의 전통문화와 오랜 연구 끝에 복원한 파주굿의 콜라보레이션을 통한 새로운 창작 작품"이라며 "사람들의 하나된 마음과 통일의 소망, 화합의 희망을 마음의 향기처럼, 고향의 향기처럼 담아내고 싶다"고 말했다.

This performance, to be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Grand Theater of the Unjeong Happiness Center in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, is a collaboration between traditional culture and art and a Korean traditional gut (shamanic ritual) that sublimates the Korean people's "one mountain, one river, and one heart" through pungmulgut.
"Simhyang" is the fourth production in the "Gut and GOOD" series, which began in 2015 with "And Gut," followed by "On the Road" in 2017 and "Shinmyeong Yeoin" in 2019. This performance marks the fifth installment in the series, which was suspended five years ago due to COVID-19.
