【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=선린대학교(총장 곽진환) 취업창업지원센터가 재학생들의 취업 경쟁력 강화를 위해 지난 7월 14일부터 8월 8일까지 4주간 ‘2025학년도 기본소양 자격증 취득 지원 과정–토익 특강’을 운영했다.

이번 프로그램은 방학 기간을 활용해 집중 교육 방식으로 진행됐으며, 총 50명의 재학생이 참여했다. 매일 오전 9시 30분부터 4시간씩 진행된 수업은 기초 이론 학습부터 실전 문제 풀이까지 단계적으로 구성돼 학생들의 실질적인 성적 향상을 목표로 했다.
최근 공공기관과 대기업 채용에서 공인 영어 성적이 중요한 평가 지표로 자리 잡은 만큼, 이번 특강은 학생들의 영어 역량을 한층 높이고 졸업 후 진로 준비에 실질적인 도움을 주기 위해 기획됐다.
간호학과 3학년 최유정 학생은 “영어에 대한 두려움이 컸는데 반복적인 실전 연습과 강사님의 노하우 덕분에 자신감이 생겼다”며 “모의시험 점수가 크게 올랐고 취업 준비에도 큰 도움이 될 것 같다”고 소감을 전했다.
강근영 입학취업처장은 “이번 특강을 통해 학생들이 취업을 넘어 미래를 준비하는 역량을 기를 수 있기를 바란다”며 “앞으로도 학생 개개인의 성장 지원에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

With official English proficiency scores becoming a key evaluation criterion for public institutions and large corporations, this special lecture was designed to further enhance students' English proficiency and provide practical assistance in preparing for post-graduation careers.
Choi Yu-jeong, a third-year nursing student, said, "I used to have a strong fear of English, but thanks to the repeated practice and the instructor's expertise, I've gained confidence. My mock test scores have improved significantly, and I believe this will be a great help in preparing for employment."
Kang Geun-young, Director of Admissions and Career Services, stated, "I hope this special lecture will help students develop the skills to prepare for the future beyond employment. We will continue to do our best to support each student's individual growth."
