브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 삼성전자는 차세대 디스플레이 기술을 집약한 ‘마이크로 RGB TV’를 세계 최초로 출시했다고 12일 밝혔다.
마이크로 RGB TV는 115형 대형 스크린에 마이크로 사이즈 RGB(빨강, 초록, 파랑) LED를 초미세 단위로 배열한 RGB 컬러 백라이트를 적용한 것이 특징이다. 이를 통해 빨강, 초록, 파랑 색상을 각각 독립적으로 정밀 제어할 수 있다.
RGB LED 칩 크기를 100㎛ 이하로 줄인 마이크로 RGB 기술을 적용해 보다 촘촘하고 정교한 색상 및 밝기 제어가 가능해졌다. 이를 통해 어두운 부분과 밝은 부분을 미세하게 조정해 명암 표현을 높이는 로컬 디밍 효과를 극대화한다. 소자가 미세해진 만큼 깊은 검은색과 밝은 이미지를 섬세하게 표현할 수 있다.
아울러 마이크로 RGB TV는 국제전기통신연합이 제정한 색 정확도를 측정하는 지표인 BT2020 면적률 100%를 달성했다. 독일 시험∙인증 전문 기관 VDE(Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker)로부터 ‘Micro RGB Precision Color’ 인증도 받았다.
또한, AI 기술 기반의 컬러 최적화 엔진인 ‘Micro RGB AI 엔진’을 탑재해 AI가 영상 콘텐츠의 화질을 실시간으로 분석하고 색감을 조정하며 생생하고 몰입감 있는 시청 경험을 제공한다.

AI가 장면별 인식을 통해 풍부한 색감을 구현하는 ‘Micro RGB 컬러 부스터 프로(Color Booster Pro)’, 풍부한 색과 깊은 명암비를 구현해 원본 영상의 깊이감을 그대로 전달할 수 있는 ‘Micro RGB HDR+’ 기능도 탑재됐다.
기존 AI TV에서 사용 가능한 AI 기능들도 그대로 누릴 수 있다. 자연어 처리 기반의 향상된 ‘빅스비(Bixby)’가 적용된 ‘클릭 투 서치(Click to Search)’ 기능을 사용할 수 있다.
