【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=선린대학교(총장 곽진환)와 경상북도 119특수대응단(단장 백승욱)은 지난 14일 오전 10시 30분, 경북 119특수대응단 대회의실에서 재난 대응 능력 향상과 관·학 협력 강화를 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다.

이번 협약에 따라 양 기관은 ▲재난 대응 및 안전 관련 공동연구와 학술 교류 ▲교육·훈련 프로그램을 위한 강사 및 전문가 교류 ▲재난 대응 역량 강화를 위한 공동 프로젝트 추진 ▲지역 특화형 전문 인재 양성 등 다양한 분야에서 협력하기로 했다.
백승욱 단장은 “이번 협약을 통해 재난 현장에서 협력 선도모델을 만들고, 특수대응단의 대응 역량을 한층 강화하는 데 큰 도움이 될 것”이라고 밝혔다.
곽진환 총장은 “전문가 자문과 인재 양성을 위한 견학·체험 기회를 제공해 관·학 협력의 실질적인 성과를 거두겠다”며 “지역 사회 안전망 구축에도 적극 기여하겠다”고 강조했다.
한편, 선린대학교는 교육부의 2025년 RISE(지역혁신중심대학 지원체계) 사업에 선정돼 향후 5년간 약 95억 원을 지원받는다. 대학은 이를 기반으로 재난·안전 대응을 위한 지역 특화형 전문 인재 양성과 다양한 협력 사업을 지속적으로 추진할 계획이다.

Director Baek Seung-wook stated, "This agreement will establish a leading model for cooperation in disaster situations and significantly enhance the response capabilities of the Special Response Team."
President Kwak Jin-hwan emphasized, "We will achieve tangible results in government-academic cooperation by providing field trips and experiential opportunities for expert advice and talent development. We will also actively contribute to building a local community safety net."
Meanwhile, Sunlin University has been selected for the Ministry of Education's 2025 RISE (Regional Innovation-Oriented University Support System) project, receiving approximately 9.5 billion won in support over the next five years. Building on this support, the university plans to continue fostering specialized talent for disaster and safety response in the region and pursuing various collaborative projects.
