세종시유소년야구단이 전북 순창에서 열린 제9회 순창강천산배 전국유소년야구대회에서 최종 우승을 차지했다.
대한유소년야구연맹에 따르면 이번 대회는 지난 9일부터 14일까지 전북 순창군 팔덕야구장 등 총 8개 구장에서 열렸으며 110개 팀 선수와 학부모 3천여명이 참가했다.
예선 조별리그, 결선 토너먼트 방식으로 진행된 이번 대회는 새싹리그(U-9), 꿈나무리그(U-11), 유소년리그(U-13), 주니어리그(U-16) 등 총 7개 부문 우승컵을 놓고 열띤 경쟁을 펼쳤다.
특히 유소년리그(U-13) 청룡 결승전 등 두 게임을 TV중계 방식으로 SOOP을 통해 홍석현 캐스터와 한만정 위원의 해설로 전국 생중계 됐다.
결승에 오른 세종시유소년야구단은 경기 남양주야놀유소년야구단고 맞붙어 16대6으로 대파하고 우승을 차지했다.
수상은 13타수 9안타(타율 0.692) 11타점 2득점과 2승 6.1이닝 1실점(방어율 1.47)을 기록하며 전경기 공수에서 맹활약한 민승재(세종시유소년야구단)가 대회 최우수선수상(MVP), 정나엘(경기 남양주야놀유소년야구단)과 이은규(세종시유소년야구단)이 우수선수상을 차지했다.
대회 감독상은 세종시유소년야구단 장재혁 감독이 수상했다.
