충남 당진시가 겨울철 교통안전 강화를 위해 자동염수분사장치 설치를 대폭 확대한다.
이를 위해 당진시는 올해 말까지 총 17억 5천만 원을 투입해 도로결빙 취약구간 11곳, 연장 6.71km에 장치를 운영할 계획이라고 21일 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 지난해 12월부터 올해 2월까지 진행된 도로결빙 우려 구간 조사 결과를 토대로 추진됐다. 시는 지난 2월 착공에 들어가 오는 10월 준공을 목표로 공사를 진행 중이며, 기존 6곳에 더해 올해 5곳을 신규 설치한다.
자동염수분사장치는 노면과 기온을 감지하는 센서가 설치돼 있어, 기온이 0℃ 이하로 떨어지거나 노면 온도가 낮아질 경우 자동으로 염수를 분사한다. 이로써 미끄럼 사고를 예방하고, 눈·비 등 기상 상황에 따른 신속한 제설 작업도 가능하다.
특히 당진시는 2020년부터 지난해까지 총 6곳, 3.4km 구간에 해당 장치를 도입해 운영한 결과 결빙 사고가 크게 줄어든 것으로 나타났다고 설명했다.
