이 세상이 생긴 이래, 특히 불교-기독교가 생긴 이래, 천국과 지옥에 관한 이야기들이 교리로 다뤄지곤 했다. 일반적으로, 천국-지옥에 관한 이미지는? 천국은 좋은 곳, 지옥은 나쁜 곳이라는 이미지가 떠오른다.
