【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=선린대학교(총장 곽진한) 응급구조과가 학과 개설 30주년을 맞아 ‘응급구조사 1급 업무범위 확대에 따른 현장 보수교육’을 개최했다. 교육은 21일 오전 9시 재난안전공유협업센터에서 대한응급구조사협회와 공동으로 진행됐다.

이번 교육은 응급의료 환경 변화에 대응해 졸업생과 현직 응급구조사의 실무 능력을 높이기 위해 마련됐다. 현역 소방·군무원, 임상 현장에서 활동 중인 졸업생 등 경북 지역 1급 응급구조사 30명이 참여했다.
교육 과정은 △응급구조사 업무범위 확대 △응급의료 관련 법제 △응급 심전도 △응급 분만 및 탯줄 결찰 △정맥로 채혈 등 실제 현장에서 필요한 핵심 주제를 중심으로, 최신 장비와 시뮬레이터를 활용한 실습으로 구성됐다.
현진숙 응급구조과 학과장은 “응급구조과 30년의 발자취는 곧 우리나라 응급구조사 양성과 발전의 역사와 같다”며 “이번 보수교육을 통해 졸업생들이 전문성을 높이고 국민의 생명을 지키는 최전선에서 자긍심을 갖기를 기대한다”고 말했다.
교육에 참여한 졸업생 김정률(3군사관학교 군무원)은 “선린대 응급구조과는 지난 30년간 수많은 인재를 배출하며 응급구조 분야를 선도해 왔다”며 “앞으로도 국민 건강과 맡은 분야에서 최선을 다하는 전문 응급구조사가 되겠다”고 소감을 전했다.
한편, 선린대 응급구조과는 1995년 전국 최초로 개설돼 현재까지 2천여 명의 졸업생을 배출했다. 대학혁신지원사업을 기반으로 자격증 과정과 전문 역량 강화 프로그램을 운영하고 있으며, 졸업생들은 소방·병원 임상·군무원·군 부사관 등 다양한 분야에서 활약하고 있다. 학과는 앞으로도 응급의료 전문성과 인성을 겸비한 ‘국가 대표 응급구조사 양성학과’로서의 위상을 강화해 나갈 계획이다.

Sunlin University's Department of Emergency Medical Services Celebrates 30th Anniversary with Continuing Education
Sunlin University's (President Kwak Jin-han) Department of Emergency Medical Services celebrated its 30th anniversary by holding "On-site Continuing Education for the Expansion of the Scope of Duties of Level 1 Emergency Medical Technicians." The training was held at the Disaster and Safety Sharing and Collaboration Center on the 21st at 9:00 AM in collaboration with the Korean Emergency Medical Technicians Association.
This training was designed to enhance the practical skills of graduates and current emergency medical technicians in response to the changing emergency medical environment. Thirty Level 1 emergency medical technicians from the Gyeongbuk region, including active firefighters, military personnel, and graduates currently working in clinical settings, participated.
The training focused on core topics relevant to real-world practice, including the expansion of the scope of duties of emergency medical technicians, emergency medical legislation, emergency electrocardiography, emergency delivery and umbilical cord ligation, and intravenous blood collection. The training included hands-on training utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and simulators.
Hyun Jin-sook, head of the Department of Emergency Medical Services, said, "The 30-year history of the Department of Emergency Medical Services is a testament to the history of the training and development of emergency medical technicians in Korea. I hope that this continuing education program will help graduates enhance their expertise and take pride in their roles on the front lines of protecting the lives of our citizens."
Kim Jeong-ryul (a military officer at the Korea Military Academy) who participated in the program shared his thoughts, saying, "The Department of Emergency Medical Services at Sunlin University has been a leader in the field of emergency medical services, producing countless talented individuals over the past 30 years. I will continue to strive to become a professional emergency medical technician who dedicates himself to the public health and his field."
Meanwhile, Sunlin University's Department of Emergency Medical Services was established in 1995 as the first of its kind in the nation and has produced over 2,000 graduates to date. Based on the University Innovation Support Project, the department offers certification courses and specialized competency enhancement programs. Graduates are active in diverse fields, including firefighting, hospital clinical practice, military service, and non-commissioned officers. The department plans to continue to strengthen its position as a "nationally recognized emergency medical technician training program" that combines emergency medical expertise with character.
