시는 총 612억 원을 투입해 노후 상수관로 354km를 교체한 진주시는 유수율을 67.5%에서 74.1%로 끌어올리며 연간 약 33억원의 예산 절감 효과를 거뒀다.
시는 환경부 국비 공모사업에도 선정돼 국비 194억 원을 확보하고 상대·하대·초전·상평동 등 47.7km 노후관 교체 사업을 추진하며 현재 기본 및 실시설계를 진행 중이다.
