【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구시의회 의원연구단체 ‘문화·관광 활성화 포럼(대표 권기훈 의원)’이 도동 측백나무숲 관광 활성화 방안을 모색하기 위해 현장 답사에 나섰다.
지난 25일 포럼은 대구의 대표 생태자원인 도동 측백나무숲의 관광 활성화 전략을 살피기 위해 충북 제천을 방문했다.
이들은 생태관광 우수 사례로 꼽히는 제천시 측백나무숲과 체험관 ‘측백숲으로’를 둘러보며, 생태관광지 조성 성공 요인과 관광객 유치 전략을 점검했다.
답사 후에는 도동 측백나무숲의 관광 활성화 방향에 대해 심도 있는 논의를 진행했다.
정책연구용역 과제 ‘도동 측백나무숲 관광 활성화 정책 연구’를 제안한 권기훈 의원(동구3)은 “도동 측백나무숲은 우리나라 천연기념물 1호임에도 불구하고, 그간 대구시의 관심과 홍보가 부족했다”며 “이번 답사를 바탕으로 지역 특성에 맞는 연구 결과를 도출해, 도동 측백나무숲을 대구를 대표하는 생태관광지로 활성화할 방안을 마련하겠다”고 말했다.

Councilman Kwon Ki-hoon (Dong-gu 3), who proposed the policy research project “Research on revitalizing tourism in Dodong Thuja Forest,” said, “Although Dodong Thuja Forest is Korea’s natural monument No. 1, Daegu City has not paid enough attention to and promoted it.” He added, “Based on this survey, we will derive research results that are suitable for the characteristics of the region and devise a plan to revitalize Dodong Thuja Forest as an eco-tourism destination representing Daegu.”
