충남 서산시가 고수온으로 인한 양식어류 집단 폐사를 막기 위해 발 빠른 대응에 나섰다.
이를 위해 서산시는 26일 팔봉면 고파도리 인근 가로림만 해역 가두리 양식장에서 조피볼락 15만 8천여 마리를 긴급 방류했다고 밝혔다. 이번 조치는 지난 21일 해당 해역에 고수온 주의보가 발령되면서 추진됐다.
방류된 조피볼락은 현장에서 양식 중이던 건강 개체들로, 충남수산자원연구소의 전염병 검사와 현장 조사를 마친 뒤 투입됐다. 긴급 방류는 사육 밀도를 낮춰 고수온으로 인한 피해를 최소화하고, 동시에 방류 해역의 수산 자원 조성에도 기여하는 방식이다.
이번에 방류에 참여한 2개 어가는 어류 방류 후 재난지원금 약 1억 원을 지원받게 된다. 지원금은 치어 한 마리당 700원 기준으로 지급된다.
