The episode is inspired by the life of Guadalajara-born writer and visual artist Marcela Solana, also known by her artistic name March. Solana’s autobiographical book Entrégala a la bestia (Feed Her to the Beast), published in 2018, recounts her experience with black magic, spiritual trauma, and the eventual path toward healing. Kang’s adaptation, rendered in his signature contemplative and visually restrained style, dramatizes her struggle while framing it as a universal story of survival and renewal.
“It is a story of survival — of patience, understanding, and forgiveness,” Kang said in a statement. “At a time when her strength seemed depleted and her light almost extinguished, a microscopic grain of faith carried her through the darkness. That ember allowed her to rise again, renewed in faith and peace.”
The cast features Priscila Cueva as the adult Marcela, Regina Tostado as Marcela’s childhood self, and Andrea Tostado as her teenage counterpart. Marco Orozco plays a doctor, Ricardo Nuncio portrays a priest, and Alma Castañeda appears as a therapist. Additional roles include Alejandra Ayala as the voice of a female doctor, and Lorena Martinez and Fernando Tostado as a couple in love.

Behind the camera, the production was helmed by Kang, with Solana herself contributing as writer and executive producer. Kang, Alma Castañeda, and Solana also served as producers. The creative team included Oscar Davis as casting director and gaffer, Alma Castañeda and Solana as production designers, and Alejandra Solana as assistant director. Kang also handled cinematography, with editing and post-production completed under his company, YMK Films. The original score was composed by Won Cheol Jeong, and makeup was provided by Karla Bravo.
The project was made possible with the support of numerous volunteers, friends, and families in Guadalajara who opened their homes, contributed resources, and even appeared as extras. The production extends special thanks to Santiago Rodríguez, Alejandra Ayala, María José Ibarra and family, Ana Paula Martinez and family, Ixchel Osuna and family, Diego Ibarra, the Solana family, and all those whose donations made the film possible.
